초록

Unity of speech and writing in Chinese literature reached its peak during the Song-Yuan times and moderated during the Ming Dynasty. It came to settle as a style of narrative literature as was enlivened in the Qing Dynasty and modern times. Unity of speech and writing in Chinese literature during the Ming and Qing dynasty and modern times waschosen as the subject of research and we will continue the discussion of its formation and development process here in this paper. In the case of China, the development process of unity of speech and writing has its distinct characteristics in that it isclosely related to the unique national identity of foreign invasion and suppression and the life and death of its people, unlike the West where it is closely related to religion. During the Ming and Qing dynasties and the modern times, a period of declineof the unity of speech and writing came, without exception, when foreign pressure and interference was weakened. On the contrary, the period when unity of speech and writing prevailed was, also without exception, when foreign invasion and suppression wasenforced. The 200-year period of absence of unity of speech and writing during the Ming dynasty and the 60-year period of absence of unity of speech and writing during the Opium war period were all results of the latent period of foreign power. And reversely, the flourishment of unity of speech and writing during the early Qing dynasty and modern times were results of flourishing foreign power. These provide justification for my assertions.
