The Effect of Power Training on the Lower Limb Isokinetic Muscle Function and Vertical Jumping Ability of High School Soccer Players

초록

This study investigated the effects of an eight-week power training program on lower limb isokinetic muscle function and vertical jump ability in high school soccer players. Twenty male high school soccer players were assigned to either a power training group (PTG, n=10) or a control group (CON, n=10). At an angular velocity of 60°/sec, the PTG showed statistically significant increases in both left and right extensor and flexor muscle strength (p<.05), whereas the CON demonstrated significant decreases in left and right extensor muscle strength and right flexor muscle strength. At 180°/sec, statistically significant increases were observed in both left and right extensor and flexor muscle power in the PTG (p<.05), while the CON showed significant decreases in right extensor and right flexor muscle power. In addition, vertical jump performance significantly improved in the PTG (p<.05), whereas a significant decrease was observed in the CON. These results suggest that an eight-week power training program was associated with statistically significant improvements in lower limb isokinetic muscle function and vertical jump performance in high school soccer players. Future studies should consider applying periodization strategies that adjust training volume according to competition schedules in order to obtain more practical and sport-specific insights.
