Silicone rubber had been compounded with carbon fiber (CF). To investigate the effect of CF on the mechanical and thermal properties of the composites, the CF modified on the surface. CF treated with nitric acid to introduce hydroxyl and carboxyl groups on the surface. The oxidized carbon fiber attached on the surface with coupling agent 3-isocyanatopropyltriethoxysiane (IPTS). IPTS modified CF(i-CF) composite had higher mechanical and thermal property than the CF composites with the same content of CF.
