Construction of bundle subsea pipeine in a curved route

초록

The design consideration and construction engineering of a bundle subsea pipeline in a curved route are considered. The background and significant design aspects of the completed pipeline project in Dang-jin, Korea are introduced. The pipeline consists of two 30” gas lines with 17.5 mm wall thickness and 70 mm weight coating. In the 3,007m entire offshore route, around 1,000m was curved with 1,400m radius. The maximum water depth reaches up to 34m from mean sea water level. The construction site was characterized with 7.5m tidal range with more than 4 knots current. To advance through the curved route, 18 subsea guide rollers were designed and installed at various spaces which satisfied the allowable stress of pipeline. Detailed investigation on the subsea pile space and quantity were conducted in the engineering phase. The engineering and design of bundle pipeline with key aspects on a curved section are discussed with the applied installation method.
