A Study on Optimal Stop Selection for Mobile Parcel Lockers on Campus

초록

In the logistics industry, the demand for solutions to enhance the efficiency of last-mile delivery is rapidly increasing. This study explores the feasibility of implementing a Mobile Parcel Locker(MPL) system utilizing autonomous vehicles. Focusing on a university campus in Korea, a mathematical optimization model was developed to determine the optimal stop locations and routes for MPLs. Optimization experiments evaluated operating costs across various combinations of the number of MPLs and operating periods, identifying the optimal configuration for each scenario. This study underscores the economic advantages of MPL adoption and offers practical recommendations for logistics companies considering the implementation of such systems.
