Sacchrospirillum aestuarii sp. nov., Isolated from Tidal Flat Sediment in the Yellow Sea
초록
A Gram-reaction-negative, chemoheterotrophic, non-motile, facultatively anaerobic and curved rod-shaped bacterial strain, IMCC4453T, was isolated from tidal flat sediment and subjected to a polyphasic taxonomic study. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain IMCC4453T belonged to the genus Saccharospirillum, with forming a robust clade with members of the genus, and was related most closely to Saccharospirillum salsuginis (97.6 %) and Saccharospirillum impatiens (95.9 %). DNA-DNA relatedness between strain IMCC4453T and S. salsuginis YIM-Y25T was 23-30 %. Several physiological and biochemical characteristics between strain IMCC4453T and the two Saccharospirillum species, together with phylogenetic and genomic distinctiveness, differentiated the strain from members of the genus Saccharospirillum. On the basis of polyphasic data obtained in this study, it is concluded that strain IMCC4453T represents a novel species of the genus Saccharospirillum, for which the name Saccharospirillum aestuarii sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is IMCC4453T (KCTC 22684T = NBRC 105825T).
