FRAMEWORK OF SHIPBUILDING PLM BASED UPON FOUR-TIER MODEL

초록

PLM system is an information technology to the necessary condition and process of providing proper information of products, with the functions of storage and managing product structure, 3D model, drawing, and BOM data, design modification for manufacturing industries. Then it provides the integration of product data structure, process of user environment design, e-business system. It integrates design objects which include data structures of product information, design process of user environment with running in enterprise applications and database servers. Therefore PLM not only should gather the functions of application, but also meet the requirements of the integrated information system. Present study suggests the macroscopic architecture of shipbuilding PLM rather than the implementation methodology of PLM. Considering the properties of ship design and construction, shipbuilding PLM architecture is indicated. Shipbuilding PLM framework that is confronted by the initial stage of PLM implementation is addressed. The authors are hopeful that this framework enhances the foundation for an efficient PLM implementation.
