Chitosan is a natural organic random copolymer comprised of repeated sugar units with a structure of (1-4)-linked 2-amino-2-deoxy-D-glucopyranose and some units with a structure of (1-4)-linked 2-acetic-amino-2-deoxy-D-glucopyranose.
