초록

An. sinensis have been incriminated as the most dominant natural vector of Korean vivax malaria. But An. pullus and An. lesteri were also suspected as potential vector mosquitoes. Recently, An. pullus and An. yatsushiroensis were synonimized based on comparative studies of eggs and adult progenies. The knowledge of species and/or strains status of anopheline mosquitoes is very important for defining real vector species, and for vector control. Systematic karyotype, hybridization, and molecular taxonomic studies have been widely applied for solving taxonomical problems. Therefore, we reported herein the two karyotypic forms of Korean An. pullus as well as hybridization experiments, and their comparative sequences of the rDNA internal-transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2) and mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) and II (COII).
