Precise Impulse Transient Voltage Measuring Device Using Optical Technique

초록

This paper deals with the voltage divider which can measure fast transient voltages generated by operating a high voltage test equipment. The proposed new optical resistive consists of light emitting deode. optic fiber, PIN photo diode and a high qualith shielding resistive divider. The electrical to optical signal converter(E/O convert), which has fast rise time and excellent linearity, is obtained by using GaAsP series light emitting diode. And PIN-photo diode is used as an optical to electrical signal converter (O/E converter). The total rise time of the proposed optical resistive voltage divider to step input is 7.35ns. The fundamental characteristics of the proposed measuring device have been verified by applying a Marx generator experimentally. Comparing with the performance of a conventional resistive voltage divider, the characteristics of the proposed optical resistive voltage divider are relatively excellant in step in step response and independent of electromagnetic interferences.
