초록

The present investigation deals with preparation of electroactive paper actuator coated with conducting polymers. The actuator constitutes the electrochemical deposition of conducting polyaniline on to cellophane paper, which was previously coated with very thin gold layer. The aim of this investigation is to improve the performance of electoactive paper actuators with the help of conducting polymer. The results of displacement output from bilayer and trilayer type devices show that trilayer devices are better than bilayer. The dopant ion used in the electro-generation show little effect on the displacement. But the change in humidity plays vital role on actuation properties of the actuators. Comparison of electoactive paper with and without conducting polymer is reported. The results clearly show the improvements in performance in presence of conducting polymer. Also, possible actuation principle was addressed in this paper.
