초록
The Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar(SHPB) technique with a special experimental apparatus can be used to obtain the material behavior under high strain rate loading conditions. The conventional Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar apparatus is modified by Pulse Shaper. The incident pulse gives pronounced effects to the specimens. The samples are in dynamic stress equilibrium and have nearly constant strain rate over most of the test duration. In this paper, we have modified the conventional SHPB technique by placing a Pulse Shaper on the impact surface of the incident bar. The details of dynamic stress equilibrium on the specimen surfaces are investigated. The dynamic deformation behaviors of an aluminum alloys (Al2024-T4) under compressive high strain rate are evaluated using the modified SHPB technique.
