Materials with at least one-dimension in hte range of one to a few hundred nm have attracted growing interest owing to their distinct, attractive properties, as well as their unique applications compared with bulk materials. nanowires, inter alia, should play an important role as both interconnectors and active components in fabricating nanoscale devices.
