First Record of Platorchestia platensis (Crustacea: Amphipoda: Talitridae) from the South Korea
초록
genera belonging to the family Talitridae, and 18 species in the genus showing worldwide distribution have been reported to date. This genus can be categorized as beach-hoppers, based on the four systematic ecological units proposed by Bousneld (1982). Platorchestia platensis has a cosmopolitan distribution, and lives in supralittoral marine environments. This species had been nrstly reported as Orchestia platensis by Kroyer (1845), but Bousneld (1982) subsequently transferred the species into the Platorchestia. We present the first record of this species in the South Korea. The present species can be clearly distinguished from other congeners by the morphology of its maxilla2, antennae 2, gnathopods, coxal plate 6, pereiopod 7, pleopod 3 and uropod 1. In addition, we also analyzed the partial sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (COl) gene including those of the related species.
