The effects of 8-weeks weight control program on body composition, dietary habits, quality of life in Korean overweight/obese female college students

초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of weight control program on body composition, dietary habits, quality of life in overweight/obese female college students (n=28). The program that consisted of diet therapy, and behavioral modification was conducted for 8-weeks. The body composition, maximal graded exercise test, dietary habits, quality of life were assessed before and after program. Average age and height of subjects were 20.7 years and 160.8 cm, respectively. After 8-weeks, weight (p<0.001), BMI (p<0.001), body fat mass (p<0.001), and percent body fat (p<0.001) were significantly decreased. There was significantly increased in soft lean mass (p<0.01). The VO2max was significantly improved (p<0.01). The average total dietary habit score (p<0.01) and the dietary habit score of health eating related아 all questions were increased. There were significantly increased on the dietary habit score of balanced eating related questions such as "eating dairy foods everyday" (p<0.05), "eating vegetable every meals" (p<0.05). There were significantly improved on all subcomponents of health-related quality of life except physical functioning and mental health. There were significantly improved on subcomponents obesity-related quality of life; social health (p<0.05), working (p<0.05), lifestyle (p<0.001), and sexual activity (p<0.05). These results show that this program would be helpful to improve body composition, dietary habits, quality of life in Korean overweight/obese female college students.
