초록
This paper is the second report about a hull form development for a passenger ship of wave piercer type catamaran in Yellow Sea. For the development of hull form, water depth, service line, resistance characteristics and principal dimensions of existing hull form are considered carefully. Resistance tests and numerical simulations for the ship model are carried out to know resistance characteristics of the designed hull forms. Also, additional modification is performed by changing sectional area curves and frame line shape using the data of series resistance test and numerical simulations. The results for the modified hull form are compared with those for the original hull form. Model tests are performed at Inha Univ. towing tank. Take into account of the shallow water depth around the coast in Yellow Sea, a series model test is carried out with changing s/L ratio in shallow and deep water condition to measure the total resistance, sinkage and wave profile along the hull surface. For the numerical Simulation, a finite difference method based on the MAC method is adopted.
