CARBON NANOTUBE-ORGANIZED POLYMERIC FIBERS AND MEASUREMENT OF THEIR ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY
초록
Carbon nanotubes were incorporated on surface of the polymeric single fibers (about 10 mm in diameter) by adsorption in water containing surfactants, which was a simple, potentially mass-producible and environment-friendly method. The nanotubes used were multi-walled carbon nanotubes (about 97% pure), which were synthesized by a thermal CVD method. The nanotubes were sonicated in aqueous solution of Triton X-100 to stabilize the nanotubes against van der Waals attraction. Electrical conductivity of the carbon nanotube-adsorbed fibers ranged from 6.1´10-3 S/cm to 1.1´10-1 S/cm by the four probe method at room temperature, implying that the nanotubes were adsorbed uniformly and densely along the fiber.
