조제 우브러리의 건축을 통해서 본 르 꼬르뷔지에 언어의 지역화에 대한 연구

초록

This paper is examining how the Architectural language of Le Corbusier is expressed when meeting American culture, through the works of the Architect named Jose Oubrerie who, as crucial assistant of Le Corbusier, has given birth to formerly uncompleted Firminy Church. The main argument is therefore, focused on the question how Mr. Oubrerie understood the vocabularies of American architecture by Corbusien language, who had participated in the works of Le Corbusier, which features the last part of his works, and experienced various types of American architecture vocabularies through educational and practical experiences. The study attempts to investigate how the local character of the Southern part of the US has made the architectural language of Le Corbusier through the Miller House, one of the featured works of Jose Oubrerie. By understanding the traditional Corbusien language imported by American modern architects, this study will give opportunity to have a perception of new Corbusian style mixed with the locality of America.
