초록

Current doubler rectifiers (CDRs) are commonly used in applications requiring low output voltages and high-output currents. However, the inductor current flows through a large number of secondary windings and high-voltage-rated diodes during the freewheeling period. Therefore, high-conduction losses occur from the transformer and rectifier diodes. To solve these problems, a new CDR employing a center-tapped transformer is proposed to freewheel the inductor current through a small number of secondary turns and a low-voltage-rated diode. This CDR also mitigates circulating and turn-off currents in the primary side. Consequently, the proposed CDR effectively reduces conduction losses, resulting in high efficiency. A 350-W prototype is designed and tested, achieving a 94.2% peak efficiency.
