Investigation of Plant Habitat by Inundation Analysis of a Riverine Wetland

초록

The wetland plant has a very high primary productivity and so it plays an important role in supplying energy to the upper food chain. It looks like a suitable place for plants because water and nutrients are abundant in the wetland. However, the wetland plant is suffered from its harsh environment physiologically due to severe variation of water level in the wetland. Therefore, in the case of plant which is greatly influenced by water level, the environment of plant habitat should be analyzed by considering inundation area and depth which can be simulated through inundation analysis of wetland. In this study, we simulated the inundation characteristics of Binae wetland which was constructed in 2012 in Korea, and investigated the growing plants in the wetland. As a result of inundation simulation, the inundation of Binae wetland was begun from the right bank because the left bank is higher than the right bank. The right bank is connected directly to the river without embankment and so the wetland was frequently inundated. Also, We analyzed plant habitat in Binae wetland according to the variations of the inundated area and depth. Therefore, from the study, we could know how the plant community is changing according to the variations of the inundation characteristics of the wetland.
