초록

This paper presents the multi-objective optimization of a wavy microchannel heat sink with rib structures to simultaneously improve the heat transfer and reduce pressure loss. To achieve the optimization goals, the averaged Nusselt number and averaged friction factor were used in defining the objective functions. Two dimensionless design variables (i. e., ratio of the rib height to channel width and ratio of the distance between staggered ribs to half of a wavelength) were selected for optimization. Surrogate models were constructed to approximate the objective functions in the design space using the objective function values calculated at the design points selected by Latin hypercube sampling. Pareto-optimal solutions were obtained using a multi-objective genetic algorithm. Three representative Pareto-optimal designs were analyzed to evaluate the optimization results. These designs showed large improvements in the objective functions compared to the reference design.
