초록

In the case of facilities installed in coastal and ocean areas, it is necessary to install wave control constructions in order to efficiently secure functionality, safety and stability. Such wave control structures include the breakwater. However it is pointed out that the existing gravity type breakwater takes too much time and cost to manufacture and it interferes with the flow of seawater, so it causes a lot of changes to environment and in the ecosystem. In order to solve problems contributing to these changes, the introduction of floating breakwaters using a specific mooring system has been in progress. Floating breakwaters are installed only at the upper part of the surface where wave energy is concentrated, so that the flow of currents and the movement of fish are much free compared to gravity type breakwaters. In this study, the cross sectional shape of the floating breakwater that improved the wave attenuation performance in both short period and long period was studied and used as a basis for this research.
