Livestock Wastewater Ttreatment by Microalgae after Secondary Settling

Livestock wastewater has higher nitrogen concentration and thus, the C/N ratio of livestock wastewater is extremely low compared with other wastewaters. The conventional wastewater treatment processes such as activated sludge process needs additional carbon sources to remove surplus nitrogen. In order to circumvent the inconvenience and inefficiency of additional carbon supplement, a new method of wastewater treatment that remove extra nitrogen without supplementing carbon sources is required. Wastewater treatments by microalgae can be a solution to this livestock wastewater treatment.
