초록
Effects of gelling agents, alginate, carrageenan, and gelatin, on the extracellular production of human granulocyte-macrophage colony-simulating factor (hGM-CSF) in transgenic Nicotiana tabacum cell suspension culture were investigated. The addition of gelling agents stabilized hGM-CSF in spent medium. Carrageenan and gelatin were effective in enhancing the extracellular production of hGM-CSF in suspension culture. This may be due to not only the enhanced stability of the secreted hGM-CSF but also the enhanced expression level by the interaction between the gelling agents and the cells.
