Identification of Rotor Blade Damage Using Vibratory Hub Load
초록
Rotor blades of helicopters and windmills are usually subject to extremely high loading conditions. Due to the large centrifugal load, a blade fracture, once initiated, can progress rapidly and lead to catastrophic results. Because of this potential hazard, it is crucial to be sure that rotor blades are intact during all operation phases. A rotor with a damaged blade exhibits significantly more vibration even in steady state compared to an intact one. Frequency contents of the damaged rotor are different from that of the intact rotor in the sense that all the imbalanced components appear in the non-rotating frame, modulated by . This paper analytically shows this behavior of rotor with imbalance and validated the results with high fidelity simulation. Using the simulation data for various combinations of damage factors, it is shown that vibration characteristics are closed related with the damage factor.
