Soilborne root diseases caused by plant pathogenic Pythium sp. , Phytophthora sp. bring about serious losses in a number of agricultural production. The glycolipid antibiotic rhamnolipid and sophorolipid isolated from Pseudomonas aeruginosa KACC 10186 and Candida bombicola ATCC 22214, respectively, were evaluated for in antifungal activity against Phytophthora capsici, Phytophthora nicotiane, Phytophthora infestans, Pythium apharidermatum, and Pythium ultimum.
