Co3O4/polypyrrole/MWCNT composite for supercapacitor

In this study, a ternary hybrid nanocomposite of Co3O4/polypyrrole/MWCNT was prepared via oxidative polymerization and hydrothermal process. The structural and thermal characterization of hybrid composite presented a controlled morphology and good thermal stability. In order to reveal the electrochemical performances of hybrid nanocomposite, charge?discharge cycles and impedance results were evaluated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) analysis and the as-synthesized hybrid nanocomposite was used to fabricate a three-electrode system in the presence of an electrochemical cell with a potassium hydroxide (KOH). The measurement of electrochemical performance of the hybrid Co3O4/polypyrrole/MWCNT shows a good capacitive behavior and good specific capacitance retention, indicating that the hybrid nanocomposite can be considered a promising hybrid material for supercapacitor applications for mobile devices.
