Gray Balancing for Plasma Displays Using Inverse Gamma Correction LUT
초록
In order to generate images on the plasma displays being equivalent to those on the CRT, the inverse gamma correction needs to be applied. It has been commonly implemented by constructing the look-up-tables (LUT) for each of the R, G, and B color channels. In the conventional method, the contents of the LUT for each color channel are determined independently. When a PDP is inverse gamma corrected by the conventional method, the shades of grays often exhibit the chromatic sensations that are unpleasing to human eyes. In order to remedy this problem, this paper presents a new method of constructing the inverse gamma correction LUT’s using the colorimetric modeling technique. In the proposed method, the inter-color relationship is taken into account when the contents of the LUT’s are calculated.
