Background: IgA nephropathy is characterized by mesangial IgA deposition and most common primary glomerulonephritis in the world. The prognosis of IgA nephropathy is very variable. IgA nephropathy can progress to end stage renal disease after 10 years in 5-25% and after 20 years in 25-50%. It can also result in complete remission in 5-30%. The prognosis factors of IgA nephropathy are hypertension, absence of gross hematuria, persistent proteinuria more than 1g/day, and decreased renal function, degree of glomerular sclerosis, interstitial fibrosis, and tubular atrophy.
