Keyword Search over Graph: State-of-the-Art

The currentWeb is a complex mix of data residing on Databases and in the form of textual documents and it is highly desirable to provide users with friendly and flexible means to search for information. Keyword search is an esteemed form of query with its simple but user friendly interface to retrieve information from complicated data structures. In this paper, we survey the various search heuristics that enable keyword query processing over Relational Database. We discuss the data model used, query semantics, algorithms to generate answer as well as the ranking mechanism introduced by the various research papers.
