초록

The acrylic copolymers having different comonomer ratio were synthesized through emulsion polymerization. The acrylic copolymer was retrieved from the emulsion polymerization reactor by coagulating the latex with CaCl2. The adhesion strength was assessed by lap shear and T-peel strength test using UTM.[1-2] The adhesion strength increased with increase in the n-butyl acrylate content. Even though poly(ethyl acrylate) was far less sticky than poly(n-butyl acrylate), the adhesion strength of the acrylate copolymer increased and then decreased after showing a maximum as the content of ethyl acrylate unit rose from 0 to 100%. Rate of polymerization and degree of cross-linking of the acrylate copolymer were examined as a function of the polymerization conditions. The configuration and thermal properties of the copolymers were analyzed by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry, respectively.
