High Temperature Deformation Behavior of Powder Metallurgy Processed Al-16Si-5Fe Based Alloy

초록

The rapidly solidified alloy powders were produced by an atomization method. The powders were then degassed, canned and extruded at 693K with an extrusion ratio of 18 to 1 to a rod shape of 60mm in diameter. The TEM micrographs of as-extruded material revealed almost equiaxed and refined grains with the mean grain size of about 800nm. In addition, very fine dispersoids (100∼200nm) were uniformly distributed on grain boundary as well as within the grain. The very fine dispersoids were identified as an Al5FeSi intermetallic phase.
