초록
We report on simulation and fabrication study on the resonance characterisitics of a waveguide-coupled photodefinable polyimide microring resonators. The extinction input into the FDTD is a sinc function in the time domain and the transmitted output displays characteristic peaks corresponding to the resonance wavelengths. We obtained the coupling efficiency of 60% and the free spectral range of 4nm. A microring resonator coupled to a waveguide provides a compact structure that is applicable for all-optical wavelength selective devices such as add-drop filters.
