초록

ship and ocean structures are generally under random loading condition. recently, fatigue cracks in ship structure are reported within a few years after delivery. these are suspected to be forced by low cycle fatigue(LCF). therefore, it is necessary to check LCF at critical locations. in this paper, base metal and weld metal of welded marine steels using for shipbuilding were tested to identify material properties. LCF tests for uniform round specimen made of base/weld metal and for the welded cruciform joints were carried out under constant amplitude alternating load, also performed for the cruciform weled joints treated by TIG dressing burr grinding, in order to check the effectiveness of tig dressing and burr grinding on LCF life. it was plotted material property for base metal and weld metal. test results shows a good agreement with published data as well as some code recommended design curves.
