초록

This paper presents the hull form development about a wave piercer type catamaran for the coastal service in Yellow Sea and resistance test about model ship to know resistance characteristics of the designed hull form. For the develop -ment of hull form, water depth, service line, resistance characteristics and principal dimensions of existing hull form are considered carefully. Model tests are performed at Inha Univ. towing . Take into account of the shallow water depth around the coast in Yellow Sea, a series model test is carried out with chang-ing s/L ratio in shallow and deep water condition to measure the total resistance, sinkage and trim of the model ship. For the numerical simulation, a finite differance method based on the MAC method is used.
