Dimensionless Number Study of Stress Distribution in Elbow Pipe Section through FEM Method

초록

In general, cylindrical pipes can express circumferential stress and axial stress through the radius, thickness, and internal pressure of the pipe, but when bending exists, such as elbow pipes, it is difficult to calculate the cross section stress of the pipe due to the inner radius and radius of curvature. In this study, the stress distribution of the pipe cross section according to the pipe size and internal pressure is examined using the finite element program Abaqus. Through the simulation results, the relationship between the stress occurring at a specific location of the cross section and the pipe's dimensions and internal pressure is presented as a dimensionless table. Through this table, the stress distribution at a specific location can be predicted by the pipe dimension and internal pressure.
