초록

This paper introduces a mixed reality near-eye display configuration designed to concurrently achieve a wide field of view (FoV) and dual side display. The proposed system incorporates a dihedral corner reflector array (DCRA), a virtual image display unit, and an eye display unit. The eyepiece within the virtual image display unit is directly imaged onto the eye pupil plane by the DCRA, enabling the simultaneous realization of a wide FoV and a large eyebox. Furthermore, the DCRA projects the eye display unit toward the external environment, accurately presenting the user's eye image at its appropriate depth to the other people facing the user. The system's configuration and principles are validated through optical experiments. © 2024 SPIE.
