Cruise Tourism in Korea: Current Conditions and Characteristics

This study aims to investigate current conditions and characteristics of cruise tourism in Korea. By examining various results of web searches and statistical facts, the number of cruise entries and factors will be analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively, which will be then narrowed down to focus on Busan’s international cruise ports that will serve as an example for estimating economic effects and weakness in Korean ports. In addition, elements that constitute the industry will be introduced for the government and corporations to consider their development plans. The overall results show that the cruise tourism in Korea has been growing while several limitations are slowing it down.
