Nocardiopsis oceanisediminis sp. Nov., Isolated from the Marine Sediment

초록

A Gram-stain-positive, filamentous, non-motile, pale yellow-pigmented, facultatively anaerobic bacterium, designated Nocardiopsis sp. CNT-189 , was isolated from Bahamas shore sediment and its activity for producing secondary metabolites has been reported. Cellular growth occurred at 25℃, pH 7.0?8.0, and with 2?6% (w/v) NaCl. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain CNT-189 belonged to the genus Nocardiopsis and shared 98.8?99.6% sequence similarities with other Nocardiopsis species. Whole genome sequencing of strain CNT-189 revealed genome size of 7.16 Mbp and DNA G+C content of 74.1 mol%. The CNT-189 genome shared the average nucleotide identity (ANI) of 92.8% with Nocardiopsis composta KS9 and 95.06% with Nocardiopsis potens DSM 45234 . The major respiratory quinone was menaquinone-9 (MK-9) and predominant cellular fatty acids were C18:1 ω9c (25.0 %), C16:0 (13.5 %), and anteiso-C15:0 (12.7 %). Major polar lipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylmonomethylethanolamine. Based on phylogenetic distinction and differential phenotypic characteristics, strain CNT-189 is considered to be assigned to the genus Nocardiopsis as the type strain of a new species, for which the name Nocardiopsis oceanisediminis sp. nov. is proposed.
