초록

One of the important facts when doing rhinoplasty is doing surgery without destruction of bony frame continuity. So, it is necessary for rhinoplasty surgeons to understand external nasal anatomy completely. Anatomically, external nose is divided into several parts such as soft tissue including skin, cartilages and nasal bone. Cartilage and nasal bones played roles as a skeleton for the shape of nose. And, soft tissue and skin cover the skeleton to complete the shape of nose. Generally, oriental noses are different from western ones. Those are characteristics for oriental noses, wide flat dorsum, thick bulbous tip skin, thick subcutaneous skin, weak thin cartilage and so on. Understanding the characteristics of oriental noses is important when doing rhinoplasty for oriental patients. We did 100 cases of oriental cardeva dissections for 2 yrs. WE would like to show the differences between oriental and western noses with photographs.
