A Study on the Leisure Consumption of Teenage Consumers: Focusing on Use of the Pay Amusement Facilities

This study aimed to investigate teenage consumers' evaluation and experience regarding to their use of charged amusement facilities as well as to capture two critical factors(i.e. demographic features and self-concept) affecting on evaluation and experience. Main result were as follows: First, self-concept of teenage consumers is composed of five dimensions in relation to their character, social relations, achievement, academic ability and family. Second, For evaluation on the use of amusement facilities, participants evaluated singing room as the most positive, while they most negatively responded with regard to the use of beer/soju bar. Third, with regard to the use of amusement facilities, boy students, senior high schoolers, and participants who marked lower scores in social and familial self-concept showed more positive attitudes than their counter part. Forth, teenagers who are not satisfied with school or family life or do not keep good relations with classmates or other family members are liable to frequently and excessively use amusement facilities for their leisure. Fifth, Among factors affecting the use experience of amusement facilities, higher evaluation on use of amusement facilities was shown as the most critical, influencial factor. The last, After classifying participants into four group- group 1 means negative-inexperience participant, group 2 negative-experience, group 3 positive-inexperience, and group 4 positive-experience based on the evaluation and experience with regard to amusement facilities, this study investigated the differences among them.
