Effects of chemical structure of the modifier on the degree of intercalation of the clay layers

In this investigation, we tried to clarify the structural effect of alkyammonium modified organo clay reinforcement in a PLA matrix. Accordingly, the mechanical properties of PLLA/clay hybrids are determined by the degree of substitution of nitrogen of the modifiers between the silicate layers of the organo modified clay as well as the tail length of the modifier of clay.
