Thermal Stress Analysis Considering Contact of Cast and Mold in Casting Process
초록
The present study was numerical simulation considering mechanical contact of cast and mold in casting analysis. The analysis was carried out by finite element analysis(FEM) and gap element for contact of cast and mold. In generally, metal cast contracts and mold expands during cooling in casting process. Therefore it is important to consider both of cast and mold at the same time in interface induce additional degree of freedom and ill-convergence. Moreover preparing input file for contact problem is tedious work. Hence in more practical terms, we developed functions for setting local gap element coordinate (contact normal vectors) and searching real contact zone automatically for efficient contact analysis. The simulation result was verified by comparison with analytic solution. And difference of stress distributions was discussed when contact is considered and ignored.
