The Present Status and Prospects of Engineering Education at Inha University

Engineering faculties at Inha University consist of the 8 major schools (or divisions) with 18 major programs. And the college has 215 faculty members, 8,000 undergraduate students and 800 graduate students. The present paper looks at the present undergraduate curricula, and, then, the ways of improvements are suggested to meet the changing social and global environments. The improvements include the reduction of the required credits for B. Sc. or B. Eng. degree with increased credits on major subjects. Soft skills such as technical writing and communication, engineering ethics, team work, leadership etc. are the subjects which are to be introduced.
