2-D Lattice Structure for Optimal Photonic Band Gap

초록

We analyzed not only the circular holes or rods in 2-dimensional Photonic Crystals but also several different structures. We showed that two limited structures(“triangular lattice of dielectric veins” and “honeycomb lattice of dielectric rods”) have the maximum value of gap-midgap ratios for each polarization(E, H-polarization). Finally, We designed a new optimal structure with a complete band gap for all polarizations. The new structures have more enhanced gap-midgap ratio of 4.5-5% than triangular lattice of circular hole structures
