New CO2 Chemistry - Recent Advances in Utilizing CO2 as an Oxidant and Current Understanding on Its Role

A plausible mechanistic insight based on the in-situ formation of highly reactive peroxocarbonate species on the active metal center of homogeneous as well as heterogeneous catalysts will be discussed for cogeneration of alkanes to alkenes, dehydrogenation of alkanes and alkylaromatics, epoxidation of alkenes and alkenylaromatics, selective partial oxidation of alkylaromatics to oxygenates such as aldehydes, ketones, and carboxylic acids.
