관자놀이 혼합 수막종, 수막종내 수막종

초록

PURPOSE : Meningiomas display wide variations in histological character. Among them, mixed type meningioma is very rare. MATERIALS AND METHODS : A 61-year-old female presented intermittent headache without neurological deficit. A large brain tumor in left pterion was observed on brain MRI. The brain tumor showed two heterogenous components in concentric character. Removal of the tumor was done. RESULTS : The tumor was consistent with meningioma since it involved duramater and had a clear margin. complete resection and biopsy was done. Grossly, the tumor consisted of a yellowish brown soft mass with dura. The cut surface of the main mass was reddish brown and myxoid, and that of the smaller masses within the main mass was brownish yellow and myxoid; meningioma in meningioma. According to the microscopic finding, the tumor was of mixed histopathology. Internal part was meningotheliomatous-type meningioma and external part was fibrous. CONCLUSION : We reported this very rare mixed type meningioma which had meningotheliomatous meningioma in fibours meningioma.
