Comparative effects of Statin and Renin-Angiotensin System Inhibitor on New-onset Atrial Fibrillation according to risk stratification of CHA2DS2-VASc score
초록
Statins and Renin-Angiotensin System (RAS) Inhibitors are known as upstream therapies for prevention of atrial fibrillation. However, there is still debate whether statins and RAS inhibitors have additive or synergistic beneficial effects according to risk stratification of CHA2DS2-VASc score. This study showed that statins and RAS inhibitors might not beneficial for primary AF prevention in patients with CHA2DS2-VASc score of ≤3, while it seem to be reduce new-onset AF in high risk patients of CHA2DS2-VASc score >3 and it may be important in developing optimal management strategies to prevent AF in high risk patients.
