This study selected seven relevant papers to comprehensively explore the lives of migrant support activists and conducted a qualitative meta-analysis on the research participants, research methods, and the transition process of the research participants. Qualitative meta-analysis was utilized for the analysis. The results revealed that the 22 participants were primarily middle-aged, born in the 1960s and 1970s. Data were collected primarily through in-depth interviews and analyzed using the concepts of otherness, McIntyre’s (1999) virtue theory, and Mandelbaum’s (1973) three-dimensionality model. The participants’ narratives were organized into three major themes (life domains, turning points, and adaptation), seven domains, and 13 subthemes, centered on their transition experiences. Participants experienced both individual-level community culture and societal-level procedural democracy. Specifically, while the internal motivation at the participants’ turning point was a desire to repay gratitude, external factors emerged as anger at the unfair reality faced by immigrants, the extension of their family business and major, and anti-volunteer work. Participants’ adaptation expended and grew from the individual level to the relational and transnational levels. This process was characterized by family recognition and fulfillment, and their adolescence dreams manifested as social practice. A sense of mission that transcended the manual enabled them to overcome on-site difficulties through connection and cooperation, and their mutual involvement with immigrants extended to global citizens on the other side of the globe.
