phytoplankton blooms in Gyeonggi Bay ,the Yellow Sea

Gyeonggi Bay is located at Seoul-Incheon metropolitan coastal area which is eutrophicated by the discharge of pollutants from Han River and Incheon industrial complex. The eutrophication in Gyeonggi Bay is being due to the high concentrations of DIN and DIP. Although there have been many phytoplankton blooms by diatoms in winter, spring, and summer, HABs have not been reported. However there have been many HABs in Shihwa artificial lake which is located within Gyeonggi Bay. These differences in the occurrences of HABs in Gyeonggi Bay and Shihwa lake might be due to the big macrotidal change in Gyeonggi Bay.
